Unlike beach spots, reef breaks are even more difficult to judge the wave conditions…
Are there waves…..are the waves big….You can’t even see them.
Even if you enter the reef break from the beach, there are many coral reef points from the moment you enter the water, and the foothold is of course coral reefs and uplifted limestone.
It’s important to understand that this mixture of terrain creates good waves!
And to enjoy surfing in this type of terrain, you have to go a little offshore. About 100M to 200M.
Being able to check the waves from this distance is a skill that comes from surfing in this ocean for decades.
Most people who take a guide are surprised at how beautiful the waves at reef breaks are.
