In Okinawa, you can have the rare experience of surfing at Japan’s only reef break, even with small waves. To be honest, reef breaks require surfing skills, but by learning the mechanics of the waves from a professional, both beginners and novices can surf safely.
Beginner surfers can enjoy Okinawa’s waves until December, while experienced surfers can enjoy the waves all year round.
